Everything is the property of the Supreme Being

Everything is the property of the Supreme Being

That means me!

How can I be someone’s property? That doesn’t sound very nice or even comfortable.

When we think of being someone else’s property I naturally think in the negative; of being controlled by someone. Fully subservient, having no choice. A mere chattel.

Yet, we hear this is the most natural of positions. The most satisfying. Like, the role of the hand is to put food into the mouth. If the hand decides to act independently and tries to enjoy food separately he will neither enjoy nor be nourished. When the hand feeds the stomach, via the mouth, then all the senses are satisfied; the tongue, the belly, the sense of touch, taste and smell. Every aspect of the body is nourished.
