I received a copy of this book yesterday and have almost finished it. I bought it for Manigriva as a reference for the farm. It’s out of print. I got it on eBay for $52.00. I found other copies on the web for over $150 so this was a bargain.
The author Arthur Cannon was a bullocky who used teams of bullocks to earn a living in the depression and to work his farm near Mildura. He talks about selecting and training teams, constructing implements by hand, making whips and many other tips for the aspiring bullocky.
There is something appealing and attractive about using bullocks for transport. It certainly is cheap and efficient.
